Hey everyone, How's it going? I bought this truck back in Sept. 2014 new. I have been having a few issues with it that I was curious as to if anyone else has had the same problems.

First, The truck has this weird low speed (35-45 mph) shudder to it on flat ground with just enough throttle to maintain speed. To aid this as a temporary fix, I just run with Tow/Haul mode on all the time. I'm not sure what is causing it, but for some reason, it seems to help when it doesn't kick into OD at lower speeds.

Secondly, I have been having issues with the audio system. It isn't a uConnect or anything like that to my knowledge. Just a regular head unit with the number buttons and 2 knobs. After about the first month, the stereo one day just decided to quit. It was off for about an hour, I checked all of the fuses and whatnot to no avail. It magically came back to life shortly after this. Had no issues for about a month and a half. Now, I'm having an issue with it where it will lock out of volumes over 20 on the dial. It will go down and up just fine as long as you don't try to exceed 20. It only seems to happen when I have the heat on, so I'm assuming it is some sort of thermal protection on the head unit??

Third, My odometer randomly disappears while I'm driving. It will go off for a while, but if I pull over and turn off the truck to restart it, it is fine. The gauge cluster also does this really random thing where it will flicker on and off while I'm not in the truck, the truck is locked, and the keys are in my pocket. I've noticed this on several instances.

If anyone can shed any light on any/all of the things I've listed here, I would highly appreciate it. Thank You!

Sounds like MDS kicking in,,, 4 cylinder mode at low RPM will 'shudder' just a bit. MDS disengages when you use Tow/haul

On a 2014 5.7 w/ 8 speed tranny Tow/Haul DOES NOT disable MDS.

X2.
The way you can disable it it to "shift" down in manual mode and then hit the up button till 8 (or 6 without the knob shifter) then bump it back to you highest gear. Or get a programmer that disables it full time

Sorry it took so long guys! Been a busy couple of weeks. The dealer confirmed that it was, indeed, the MDS. They told me that the Tow/Haul was not a great idea to use as a remedy, as it does negatively affect your gas mileage. Instead, they told me to use the Manual shift mode and just leave it in 6 (or 8 in the 8 Speed). Otherwise, as far as the stereo problem was concerned, they said it is a fault with the stereo. They ordered another one for me, and I am awaiting the install on it. They also said it may have overheated at some point which caused it to go into a thermal lock-out of sorts. Not sure why it would have overheated, but ok. LOL Sorry it's such a long response, but if you want to check out what it was doing, you can watch this video http://youtu.be/Ce6vJcSBy18. It is a 12 minute walk-around and 5k review, and the radio issue I was having is included in the video. If any of you have had a similar issue with the radio (RA1), I suggest you take it in, as it is definitely defective. Have a good one, all, and thanks for all your replies!!!
